<title>Studies of Infrared Radiative Transfer in Hot Gases I: Spectral Absorptance Measurements in the 2.7-µ H2O Bands</title>
<link>http://hdl.handle.net/2027.42/93595</link>
<description>Studies of Infrared Radiative Transfer in Hot Gases I: Spectral Absorptance Measurements in the 2.7-µ H2O Bands
Simmons, F. S.; Arnold, C. B.; Smith, D. H.
Measurements of spectral absorptances in the 2.7-µ water vapor bands were made at moderate resolution, for pressures from 50 mm to 1 atm, temperatures from 7500 to 13000K, and path lengths of 7.75 and 60.0 cm. Samples of pure water vapor were contained in quartz cells heated in a furnace which was built into a specially designed double-beam spectrometer. The resultant spectra are presented and correlated with those obtained by other investigators. Values of a strong-line parameter and a mean line strength for use in nonisothermal radiance calculations were determined.
Reports No. 4613-92-T and 4613-93-T are related reports in this series.
