Permanent atrial standstill appears to be an arrhythmia that develops because of extensive myocardial disruption. It has been noted in three clinical settings: in patients with long-standing cardiac disease, in patients with neuromuscular disease and in otherwise healthy people who present with vertigo, syncope or stroke. A patient with this arrhythmia and limbgirdle muscular dystrophy is presented.en_US
