dc.description.abstractA synthesis of (-)-Serricornin is described. The (4S,5S)-4-methyl-5-ethyl [delta]-valerolactone 8 has been synthesized with a high degree of enantioselectivity starting from (R)-(+)-(E)-1-propenyl p-tolylsulfoxide 2, having the enantioselective Marino's lactonization as the key step.en_US
