Political Theory

The Political Theory Program at the Department of Political Science forms the core of the study of political theory and philosophy at the University of Michigan. There are five political theorists in this top-ranked and intellectually diverse department, which offers a rich graduate curriculum and a generous funding structure to its students. The University of Michigan’s large research resources and a real commitment to interdisciplinarity also makes it possible for students to forge creative connections with faculty and programs outside the department. Activities around the theory program also bring together political theorists and other interested scholars from universities in the Southeast Michigan area in general.
