In conclusion, observation of Pogonia ophioglossoides, the rose pogonia or snake's mouth orchid, appears to indicate that it is a moisture-loving, calciphilic, minerotrophic fen species which grows on the quaking mat, poor fen Sphagnum lawn, or occasionally the hummocky lawn of an alkaline lake mat. Further research to quantify these observations would be most informative.en_US
