Overview summary Retroviral-mediated gene transfer is the standard procedure used in human gene transfer/therapy clinical protocols. Stewart et al. have utilized a different approach: DNA–liposome complexes to transfer genes in vivo. Their clinical protocol was recently approved by the RAC (and is the first in vivo gene therapy protocol to be approved). This manuscript presents a portion of the safety data on which the approval was based.en_US
