Abstract: The normal vibrations of crystalline trans‐1,4‐polybutadiene have been calculated by combining interchain atom‐atom potentials with the previously proposed intrachain force field. These calculations have been used to analyze the infrared and Raman spectra of an essentially all‐trans urea‐complex polymer. The band splittings and low‐frequency lattice modes observed in these spectra are satisfactorily accounted for by the calculations.
