Abstract: People with neuromotor control disabilities, such as spina bifida and cerebral palsy, often have significant problems walking and lose their ability to do so over time. Fundamental problems that contribute to walking difficulty for these populations include gait inefficiency and instability, particularly in the medial-lateral direction. The goal of this project is to design and build an assistive device that is easy to use and
maneuver, socially acceptable to young people, and will promote normal arm movement during walking.
