dc.description.abstract | For Presentation to The Society of Naval Architects and Marine Engineers, Great Lakes and Great Rivers Section, October 7, 1982&&Calculation of hull deflections in way of machinery spaces of two Great Lakes bulk carriers is presented. Methods of modeling and analysis by the finite element method is discussed, and some results are shown. Calculated results are compared to measured results. Calculation of shaft bearing influence coefficients with hull flexibility included is discussed. An application in which a proposed alteration to an existing ship was analyzed is covered. | en_US |
