Cut into conglomerate rock turning to clay approximately two-thirds way in. Tunnel leads generally east. Water level approximately 0.3m throughout. Streaming water from above heard at last accessible point. Local informants report that there is a reservoir beyond furthest accessible point. Date of construction unknown but may be source of Roman aqueduct.en_US
