dc.descriptionDescription: Aphrodisias Sarcophagus Database no. S-344. Preserves bottom and about one-third of the right short side. ** The front preserves the lower remnants of five columnar niches and the feet of male and female figures. Beginning from the left, figure A preserves the left foot of a male figure, figure B is barely visible, figure C preserves the feet of a male figure wearing sandals, figure D preserves the feet of a male figure, and figure E preserves the lower drapery of a female figure wearing a chiton and himation. The right short side preserves the lower left section of a fruit garland swag with a hanging grape cluster. Three lines of inscription are preserved on the lower molding, describing the transfer of ownership of the sarcophagus to the present owner by Aurelia Tyche.en_US
