Description: Local Name: Gökçeler Köyü Latitude: 37.38.39.823 Longitude: 28.47.53.845 Elevation: 1013.99m Description: A decorated architectural element is built into the wall of a house high up under the eaves. The piece appears to have been part of a marble screen post carved with a band of interlaced tangent lozenges and interlooped circles. A local informant reported that this screen post was brought to its present location from the Cathedral at Aphrodisias ** more than 50 years ago, so its presence in the village does not suggest that a Middle Byzantine church was in this immediate area.
