Description: Local Name: Aphrodisias, West Necropolis Local Information: Field 46 ** Low grass with olive trees Latitude: 37.42.37.4 Longitude: 28.42.57.7 Elevation: 518m Dimensions: H: 0.32 m; D: 0.76 m; W: 0.44 m; letter H: 0.03 m Description: S-259 in sarcophagus database. ** Left end of a sarcophagus lid, preserving its whole depth and approximately one-fourth its width. Very lichen encrusted, worn. Found with lion-foot bench block (D021) and another sarcophagus lid fragment (D022). ** Front slope of the roof has pan and cover tile moldings, back slope is plain. Three bands of cornice molding, two unfinished corner acroteria, and one broken apex acroterion preserved. The name Zosimos is inscribed on the front (RS Inscriptions 8).
