Description: Local Name: Valga Mevkii Latitude: 37.40.17.35 Longitude: 28.40.26.40 Description: Farmstead is at site of agricultural blocks (A107). Field contains with numerous architectural fragments and a lot of tile and brick sherds. Evidence of structures includes: mortared rubble (big thick chunks), 4 large pale limestone blocks (up to 0.40m x 0.60m x 0.80m). There appears to be evidence of a Byzantine monastery at the site; architectural fragments include: a white spiral fluted column cut for the insertion of a screen, a white marble fluted double capital, a pedestal base, other column fragments, and an octagonal base and pedestal. The site was revisited for systematic pottery collection on 30 May 2008, but none of the architectural elements seen in 2005 were present. Finds: Systematic pottery collection on 5/30/2008
