Ali Karacam said that the looters found it since the metal clamps between the stones activated the metal detector. ** 6.5 km due west of Aphrodisias, on the south side of the Morsynus river valley (3.5 km northwest of the modern village of Yazır).en_US

Dimensions: Chamber: H: 2.07 m; W: 2.01 m; L: 2.67 m; L including doorway: 3.02 m ** Antechamber: H: 1.90 m; W: 1.53 m; L: 1.95 men_US
Description: Chamber. The floor and walls of both the chamber and the antechamber are built entirely of sandstone blocks. The walls are finely chisel-dressed, exhibiting no visible tool marks, except in hidden areas, which are point-dressed. No clamps or clamp cuttings are visible, although the robbers have gouged out many of the joints where they might have been present. As in other tumulus tomb chambers, the floor (Th: 0.2 m) was laid first and the walls (Th: ca. 0.5 m) built on top of it. The walls were built up in four courses, decreasing in height from bottom (0.59 m) to top (0.47 m). Couches composed of monolithic schist slabs (W: 0.65 m; Th: 0.09 m) were slotted into the back and south walls on top of the bottom course. The back couch also had a front slab (H: 0.41 m) resting on top of the front edge of the couch and fitted into slots in the north and south walls. The couch was thus an elevated cist. A shallow cutting in the south doorjamb (H: 0.46 m; W: 0.05 m) suggests that the couch on the south wall had a similar front panel. As in other tomb chambers, the couch on the back wall was supported on three sides (north, south, and west), while the couch on the south wall was simply cantilevered out from the wall, although it may have had supports underneath. It is unclear whether its front panel was composed of stone, in which case it would certainly have required additional supports, or another material. The cutting in the doorjamb is very shallow and seems more appropriate for wood than for stone. ** A neat cutting in the east end of the top block of the south wall appears to have been a repair, cut to receive a stone patch. ** As in other tumulus tombs, the east wall of the chamber contains the doorway (H: 1.51 m; W: 0.78 m), situated off center so as to accommodate the south couch. It consists of two monolithic doorjambs (W of south jamb: 0.75 m; W of north jamb: 0.40 m), supporting a lintel course (H: 0.56 m). The doorframe was built up against the side walls of the chamber, which is roofed by four monolithic schist ceiling slabs. ** Antechamber. The antechamber was built up against the chamber; it is not centered on the door but appears rather to have been loosely and inexactly centered on the chamber. Its masonry resembles that of the chamber but is more crudely point-dressed. The walls seem to terminate in anta-like butt ends to the east. The chamber is roofed by two monolithic sandstone ceiling slabs (Th: at least 0.25 m). As exposed in a robber's hole, the slab closer to the door is notched into the lintel—the ceiling of the antechamber being lower than the ceiling of the chamber—resting on a narrow shelf (W: 0.08 m).en_US
