FROM DIKOBRAZ NO. 25 -- 20 JUNE 1968
In the upper left panel, a cleaning woman tells one of the tenants in
her apartment building: "I'm sorry, Professor, for writing that
evaluation of you once -- I had to do it." The evaluation in
question would have been a "reference letter" to the authorities
about the professor's political unreliability.
In the panel below that, a speaker's opening words reflect the
loosening of ideological constraints and the confusion that sometimes
resulted: "Comrades, citizens, ladies and gentlemen, sisters and
brothers, comrade conservatives..."
In the lower right, a man shouts "Hello" and his echo replies:
"Don't hang up. Your call will be answered in the order it was
received!"
