DIKOBRAZ NO. 37 - 10 SEPTEMBER 1968
A Dikobraz cover from the month after the invasion refers to a Czech
folk tale in which a man tries to pull a turnip out of the ground;
when he can't, his wife pulls on him, and then their children, farm
animals, etc. join in. Finally, a mouse joins in and this little
extra effort leads to success. The caption reads: "Cernik behind
Svoboda, Dubcek behind Cernik, Smrkovsky behind Dubcek, and everybody
behind them!" Two weeks after the invasion, a call to stand united
behind the leaders of the reforms, and a suggestion that every person
counts in the opposition to the invasion.
