On the left, in a park in the spring, a man walking through the roses asserts his newfound freedom to a policeman: "Don't make me remind you what democracy is, old man!!!"
On the right: "It's not Berlin, of course, but then I didn't compromise myself all that much." The sign reads "Czechoslovak Representation" (i.e. consulate or embassy). An ambassador newly appointed to the North Pole explains apologetically to his wife that he didn't compromise himself enough, in the past, to receive a better posting.
