Czechoslovak Radio
August 26, 1968
6th day of the occupation.
In the second column a brief piece satirizes Lenin's oft-quoted advice "Study, study, study," while referring to the Czechoslovak government's decision to start the school year on time, at the beginning of September, despite the invasion:
"So we studied and studied and studied, as was recommended to us, and suddenly someone changed the curricula overnight and forced us to take a test of maturity overnight. And it is an unusual and horribly strange exam: we ourselves pose the questions and we ourselves answer them. So far we've been getting an A in everything.
We draw your attention to the fact that, nevertheless, we are willing to participate in the beginning of a new school year and we promise that we will continue to study, study, and study some more.
We have plenty of materials to learn from."
