Catherine Technoskepticism Promo Captioned === Catherine Knight Steele: [00:00:00] Hi, I'm Catherine Knight Steele, and I was so excited to work on this book project, Technoskepticism. I spent a lot of time working on our chapter about longing for home and nostalgia. Several of us got into conversations about a nostalgia we had for a time on the internet that felt more like home. Blogs served as small places of familial, communal ideas. Algorithms have restricted or taken away those kinds of possibilities of curating our sense of space and home online in favor of algorithms that kind of suggest to us what we should be viewing and how we should be viewing it and have commodified and commoditized a lot of those environments and sites of what we used to see as home spaces. It's a really fun walk through some digital history with a little bit of a projection to the future about what our online lives will look like inside this world of algorithmic change.
