EVENT ANNOUNCEMENT
Benefit concert at U-M to aid victims of Hurricane Katrina

DATE: 3 p.m. Sept. 11, 2005

EVENT: To aid the American Red Cross, Second Harvest and the National Humane Society and their efforts in the stricken Gulf Coast, faculty and students from the University of Michigan's School of Music will perform a program of music from and about New Orleans and the Mississippi and Louisiana Gulf Coast.

Among those performing are: Logan Skelton; Freda Herseth; Caroline Helton; Lynne Aspnes; Geri Allen; the U-M Jazz Ensemble under the direction of Ellen Rowe; Creative Arts Orchestra under the direction of Ed Sarath; Bill Bolcom and Joan Morris; Erling Blöndal Bengtsson; Amy Porter; Dennis Wilson; Andrew Bishop; and Louis Nagel.

ADMISSION: Free. Donations in cash or checks made out to the American Red Cross, Second Harvest or the National Humane Society will be accepted.
