Work Description

Title: Ganymede simulation with MHD-EPIC model Open Access Deposited
Attribute Value
  • This data set contains the outputs of simulations of Ganymede's magnetosphere from the Space Weather Modeling Framework (SWMF) using MHD-EPIC model. Details can be found in the paper: Embedded Kinetic Simulation of Ganymede's Magnetosphere: Improvements and Inferences, Zhou, JGR 2019.
  • The outputs include the steady state solutions for all Galileo flybys, the particle information for plotting the distribution functions near the reconnection site, the particle and field data for mapping the energetic flux densities, and 3D files for visualizing the whole simulation domain. More details can be found in Readme.txt.
