Methodology
  • Computed tomographic (CT) scans were performed at the University of Michigan Dental School in Ann Arbor, MI, USA, using a Scanco Medical μCT100 with a 0.5-mm-thick aluminum filter. Scan settings were 90 kVp, 155 μA and exposure time 500 ms. Uniform cubic voxels were 40 μm on a side. Please see metadata embedded within dicoms for complete information.
Description
  • Specimen GSI/GC/DD4 is a posterior portion of the skull (comprising a partial braincase and skull roof), a partial right mandible, and right pterygoid of a snake referred to the species Sanajeh indicus. The specimen was collected from Late Cretaceous-aged sediments near the village of Dholi Dungri, Gujarat, India. The specimen is housed in Geological Survey of India Palaeontology Division, Central Region, Nagpur, India. For assistance with access, please contact Dhananjay Mohabey ( dinomohabey@yahoo.com) or Bandana Samant ( bandanabhu@gmail.com). Casts of this and other elements of Sanajeh are available at the University of Michigan Museum of Paleontology.

“This work utilized data produced in the CTEES facility at the University of Michigan, supported by the Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences and the College of Literature, Science, and the Arts. These data are provided courtesy of the University of Michigan Museum of Paleontology.”
If CT Data is provided by the UMMP, but not produced in the CTEES facility, attribution should read:
“CT data is provided courtesy of the University of Michigan Museum of Paleontology.”
If CT data represent a specimen held by the University of Michigan Museum of Paleontology, the UMMP catalog number of the specimen must be included in the attribution (e.g., specimen UMMP 117677).
