DescriptionString: Reconstructed CT slices for navicular of Cantius mckennai (University of Michigan Museum of Paleontology catalog number UMMP 86543) as a series of TIFF images. Raw projections are not included in this dataset. The reconstructed slice data from the scan are offered here as a series of unsigned 16-bit integer TIFF images. The upper left corner of the first image (*_0000.tif) is the XYZ origin. MethodString: Specimen UMMP 86543_Cantius mckennai_navicular was scanned with a Nikon XT H 225ST uCT system housed in the Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences at the University of Michigan. Scans were collected with the following settings: energy settings, 92 kV, 97 uA; source to object distance, 51.55868 mm; source to detector distance, 1103.999 mm; scanned with 1400 projections; voxel size, x = 0.00934035 mm y = 0.00934035 mm z = 0.00934035 mm; slice dimension (in pixels), x = 1172, y = 1118; number of slices, 1125 16-bit TIFF images. Original floating point grey values were scaled to span the unsigned 16-bit integer range using an offset of 155.597 and a scale factor of 14.5129, where 16output = SCALE * (32input + OFFSET).
