README FILE FOR "Central Mali oils, soap, and soda ash documentaries" videos

These videos were made as a byproduct of linguistic fieldwork in villages in central Mali between 2010 and 2011. Topics covered in these videos are: liquid soda ash, soap manufacture, and pressing of several types of vegetable oils and of shea-butter. The 2010 videos are "compilations" of many short clips. The 2011 videos are in standard documentary form and is captioned in English, also mentioning relevant vocabulary in the featured native language. Primary funding by National Science Foundation.
