These data files show a comparison of the Global Ionosphere Thermosphere Model (GITM) simulations when two different lower boundary conditions are used. GITM model: https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S1364682606000071 GitHub code is here - https://github.com/aaronjridley/GITM and attached to this dataset gitm_routines.py : Routine to read in a GITM binary file Description about the directories : run_msis_Jan_2010 : GITM run with MSIS lower boundary condition for atomic oxygen. run_waccm_Jan_2010 : GITM run with WACCM-X lower boundary condition for atomic oxygen. run_msis_June_2010 : Same as above, but for June run_waccm_June_2010 : Same as above, but for June All other major species are kept constant at the lower boundary. waccm_lower_boundary_files : Netcdf files containing WACCM-X atomic oxygen, interpolated at 95 km, 97.5 km and 100 km. run_msis_Jan_2010_USR_files : GITM binary files which contain diagnostic parameters. run_waccm_Jan_2010_USR_files : Same as above, but for WACCM-X lower boundary condition
