*************************************************************************** Data for manuscript: CESM global climate model simulations of the Cenomanian, early Eocene, and middle Miocene R. Paul Acosta *************************************************************************** ***************** Research overview ***************** -This study uses earth system model (iCESM1.2) to simulate the climate for the Cenomanian (95Ma) early Eocene (55Ma), middle Miocene(15Ma), and Preindustrail era. The manuscript presents a comprehensive analysis of the combined impact of the Andean uplift, paleo-CO2, and paleogeography on the South American and African hydroclimate system. -The study was conducted by R. P. Acosta, JB. Ladant J. Zhu, and C. Poulsen at University of Michigan and used the NCAR Cheyenne computing resources. -NSF grant (EAR-1550134) and school of LSA funded this project. ***************** Methods ***************** The NCAR Cheyenne computing resources was used to generate the data. The data was then post processed using nco (http://nco.sourceforge.net/) and ncl (https://www.ncl.ucar.edu/). **************************** * NAMING Definition **************************** Model: CASENAMES: Cenomanian (CEN) Early Eocene (EOC) Middle Miocene (MIO) Preindustrial (PI) CO2values Preindustrial 280 ppm Miocene 400 ppm Eocenen and Cenomanian 1700 ppm Seasonal climatology: Annual (ANN) December, January, and February (DJF) June, July, and August (JJA) CAM atmosphere (ATM) POP ocean (OCN) ***************** File Inventory ***************** CEN.1700_ANN_ATM_climo.nc CEN.280_ANN_ATM_climo.nc EOC.1700_ANN_ATM_climo.nc EOC.280.ANN_ATM_climo.nc MIO.280_ANN_ATM_climo.nc MIO.400_ANN_ATM_climo.nc PI_ANN_ATM_climo.nc CEN.1700_ANN_OCN_climo.nc CEN.280_ANN_OCN_climo.nc EOC.1700_ANN_OCN_climo.nc EOC.280.ANN_OCN_climo.nc MIO.280_ANN_OCN_climo.nc MIO.400_ANN_OCN_climo.nc PI_ANN_OCN_climo.nc CEN.1700_DJF_ATM_climo.nc CEN.280_DJF_ATM_climo.nc EOC.1700_DJF_ATM_climo.nc EOC.280.DJF_ATM_climo.nc MIO.280_DJF_ATM_climo.nc MIO.400_DJF_ATM_climo.nc PI_DJF_ATM_climo.nc CEN.1700_DJF_OCN_climo.nc CEN.280_DJF_OCN_climo.nc EOC.1700_DJF_OCN_climo.nc EOC.280.DJF_OCN_climo.nc MIO.280_DJF_OCN_climo.nc MIO.400_DJF_OCN_climo.nc PI_DJF_OCN_climo.nc CEN.1700_JJA_ATM_climo.nc CEN.280_JJA_ATM_climo.nc EOC.1700_JJA_ATM_climo.nc EOC.280.JJA_ATM_climo.nc MIO.280_JJA_ATM_climo.nc MIO.400_JJA_ATM_climo.nc PI_JJA_ATM_climo.nc CEN.1700_JJA_OCN_climo.nc CEN.280_JJA_OCN_climo.nc EOC.1700_JJA_OCN_climo.nc EOC.280.JJA_OCN_climo.nc MIO.280_JJA_OCN_climo.nc MIO.400_JJA_OCN_climo.nc PI_JJA_OCN_climo.nc To cite this dataset: R.
