README FILE FOR "Central Mali hunting and collecting documentaries" videos

These videos were made as a byproduct of linguistic fieldwork in villages in central Mali between 2011 and 2014. Topics covered in these videos are: wild fonio (Panicum laetum) grain collecting, Bozo fishing with nets, hunting for edible grasshoppers, harvesting water lily tubers and fruits, and collecting honey from manmade beehives. The videos are in documentary form and are captioned in English, also mentioning relevant vocabulary in the featured native language. Primary funding by National Science Foundation and Guggenheim Foundation.
