Methods: Specimen UMMP_VP_102495_Hyopsodus_vertebrae was scanned with a Nikon XT H 225ST uCT system housed in the Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences at the University of Michigan. Scans were collected with the following settings: energy settings, 180 kV, 162 uA; source to object distance, 226.143939971924 mm; source to detector distance, 1105.0 mm; scanned with 1600 projections; voxel size, x = 0.0409310304690916 mm y = 0.0409310304690916 mm z = 0.0409310304690916 mm; slice dimension (in pixels), x = 1174, y = 1112; number of slices, 2000 16-bit TIFF images. Original floating point grey values were scaled to span the unsigned 16-bit integer range using an offset of 36.4452 and a scale factor of 51.3788, where 16output = SCALE * (32input + OFFSET). Additional metadata can be found in the xtekct, ctprofile.xml, and UMMPCombinedMetadata.json files. Format: The reconstructed slice data from the scan are offered here as a series of unsigned 16-bit integer TIFF images. The upper left corner of the first image (*_0000.tif) is the XYZ origin. At the time of posting, this format can be loaded in a variety of viewers, such as 3D Slicer, Amira, Avizo, Dragonfly, ImageJ, and VG Studio. Projections are not included in this dataset.
