dc.description.abstract | This note comments on a paper by G. Chichilnisky in the Journal of Development Economics (April 1981). Her conclusion that a positive shift in demand from the North for the South's exports may worsen the South's terms of trade, is shown to be incorrect in the context of her model. It is, however, possible that the quantity of exports from the South may decline in the new equilibrium. | en_US |
