dc.description.abstractIn this paper a discussion of the Open Door Policy in Egypt is divided into five parts: 1) a description of the Open Door Policy and its development over the past ten years, 2) a summary of changes in the balance of payments during the same time period, 3) a discussion of changes in the distribution of imports, 4) an analysis of the impact of the Open Door Policy on industrialization by examining changes in output and prices and considering the performance of the private sector relative to the public sector, and 5) the conclusions and suggestions for further research.en_US
