dc.description.abstractSix new species of Hiraea (Malpighiaceae) from South America are described and illustrated. Hiraea andersonii (Peru), H. holmgreniorum (Brazil), H. kariniana (Ecuador), H. singularis (Venezuela), and H. woytkowskii (Peru) belong to the group of species chracterized by 4(–6)-flowered umbels, borne singly or in secondary inflorescences; H. brevistipulata (Peru) bears multiradiate umbels.en_US
