Abstract:
Dancer, researcher, and ethnomusicologist; studied music and traditions of Native American tribes in Michigan and elsewhere and in 1962 founded the Dance Research Center in Ann Arbor. This collections contains digitized versions of ield recordings entitled "Michigan Indian Hymns" and "Michigan Indian Native Songs" produced by Gertrude P. Kurath in 1953-1954.
