The NIH Public Access Policy (NIHPAP) has been in place since April 7, 2008. The Policy requires scientists to submit final peer-reviewed journal manuscripts that arise from NIH funds to the digital archive PubMed Central immediately upon acceptance for publication. This presentation explores The Policy, covers its scope and applicability, what it means for the NIH grant process, how to deposit the appropriate files into the NIH Manuscript Submission System (NIHMS) and how to determine if publications are compliant.en_US
