dc.description.abstract | The analysis is based upon an analysis of hundreds of cartoon images of Arabs, but also of Jews, Blacks, and Japanese. The thesis is that there are certain ethnic archetypes in American culture. When we encounter a hostile group, we call up images from the past and apply them to our new enemy. The focus is upon how this model works when applied to images of Arab Americans. | en_US |
