dc.description.abstractVideo recordings from a symposium on the Dutch painter Piet Mondrian held at the University of Michigan on April 22, 1995. The first event was a panel discussion at the North Campus Chrysler Auditorium entitled Mondrian: The Education of Vision and which included Allen Samuels (dean of the School of Art), painter Vince Castagnacci, sculptor Michael Kapetan, designer Jack Williamson, architectural historian Anatole Senkevitch, and Jason Holtzman, trustee of the Mondrian-Holtzman Trust. Recordings also include the dance work Mondrian Boogie (choreographed by Associate Professor of Dance Jessica Fogel with music by Assistant Professor Stephen Rush) and the Slusser Gallery's recreation of Mondrian's last studio in New York.en_US
