Abstract:
Letters written by Dwight Brewer to his family during the Civil War. Some letters were written together with Edwin Stearns, who served with Brewer and whose sister was married to Brewer's father. Also includes a list of letters, identifying correspondents and field locations of the Michigan Twentieth Infantry.

History:
Dwight J. Brewer was a resident of Brooklyn, Mich. and soldier in the American Civil War who enlisted in Company F of the Twentieth Michigan Infantry on August 9, 1862 and was discharged at Knoxville, Tenn. on May 24, 1865.
