To the Editor, "Rondan" in Asahi shinbun, the article written by Yokota, Keiko. In the end of 1980's to 1990, when Japan's economy is booming, Japan bashing feeling is growing in the United State. Grassroots culture and educational exchange programs would promote true understanding among people in the United Sates toward Japan. One of the examples is the documentary film festival held in Amherst, Massachusetts. Himeda Tadayoshi and Haneda Sumiko brought their documentary films of lives of Ainu people and rural Japanese people in Japan.en_US
