What's our Job? What Do You Do in a Library When There is No There...There?

Abstract

When the Kresge Business Library 'lost its lease' in 2014 as part of a major construction project, we had to reinvent ourselves. For the 19 people at Kresge Library, some jobs changed little and others changed a great deal as we altered our value proposition. This session will focus on changes staff roles and services as we went through these dramatic changes. Both library successes and failures were an opportunity to refine what we did and adjust as we prepare to move into new permanent quarters in 2016. This is one of two sessions focused on the upside and downside of Library HR issues during dramatic organizational change.
