Abstract:
U-M Tech Transfer is the University organization responsible for the transfer of University technology to the marketplace. The collection includes e-mail correspondence related to the processing of patent applications, 2005-2007.

History:
The Office of Technology Transfer is the organization responsible for the transfer of University of Michigan technologies to the marketplace. Their mission is "to effectively transfer University technologies to the market so as to generate benefits for the University, the community and the general public," and they fulfill this mission by facilitating invention reporting, providing guidance on patents and other protections, analyzing opportunities to form start-ups, assisting in technical and market assessments, and providing legal and decision support.
