In no other service organization, civic group, religious gathering or governmental agency will one find the diversity of age, experience, social strata, or work and family backgrounds as can be found in amateur theatre groups. If one is fortunate enough to have a group like the Thumb Area Center for the Arts in Caro, Michigan, one can find acceptance, friendship, and a venue in which to hone one’s craft. The many different people from different backgrounds who possess varied abilities merge their talents to create a piece of commonality. Together, they present this piece to the community at large. Whether lawyer, student, homemaker, educator, engineer, or farmer by vocation, they join together in the unifying avocation of community theatre.
