Objectives. After designing a sexual health workshop discussing IPV, a survey instrument was designed to detect the participant's stage of change through the transtheoretical model. The survey instrument is design to complement the workshop. They survey examines the participant's stage before and after the workshop. The applied project designed a survey instrument for use with a healthy relationship workshop for sexual health interventions for college age women. The instrument assesses two variables Intimate Partner Violence (IPV) and whether or not participants are ready to change their situation. The survey instrument assesses the female's readiness for change from a relationship that contins intimate partner violence. The instrument assess the stage of change a woman is in during the intervention. The instrument also detects whether a relationship contains Intimate Partner Violence. The survey instrument is developed using the Revised Conflict Tactics Scale (CTS2) and the University of Rhode Island Change Assessment (URICA). The questions have een alterd slightly (URICA), or omitted (CTS2), to be considerate for distribution during a short workshop. Methods. A random sample of women of color will be assessed at baseline prior to the series of workshops along with informed consent and at the end of the workshop series. The scoring of the survey will match scoring of the URICA and CTS2. Both survey instruments have been modified to fit time constraints and participants. However, questions still match stages and identifiers of IPV. Conclusion. This survey instrument will assist in collecting data on the change process. This data will prove useful in designing future stage matched interventions.
