The topic I have chosen in one that has been heavily researched in the education profession; however, it is one that is highly divisive. In every classroom there are a variety of learners, with various academic abilities. How to effectively meet the variety of levels is an unanswered question facing many educators. If the teacher's job is to take each child from where he/she is to where he/she needs to go, then the teacher must assess each individual. With large classes, such an assessment may lead to instructional grouping. My question is, "How can provide students with materials and instruction to fit their individual levels of development?"
