dc.description.abstract | The main purpose of the project is to study the epigenetic change in the PACE4 gene as it is related to stressors that induce PC-associated metastasis and in doing so, provide an explanation for the stable cellular changes that result in metastasis. The specific objectives of the project are: 1. To evaluate the methylation status of the promoter region of the PACE4 gene in LoVo cells under normal growth conditions, and 2. To describe possible changes in DNA methylation of the PACE 4 gene under conditions of hypoxia, hyperthermia, alone and in combination. | |
