dc.description | The Avery Hopwood and Jule Hopwood Awards in Creative Writing were established in 1930 following the terms of Hopwood's will. Since the first contest, young writers have been awarded with prizes in the categories of drama/screenplay, essay, novel, short fiction, and poetry. "A Remarkable Legacy" celebrates these authors, and especially the ones who have chosen the University of Michigan's Special Collections Library to be the repository for their papers. | |
