A convenient, highly stereoselective synthesis of anti-[alpha],[beta]-epoxy alcohols by the Luche reduction of [alpha],[beta]-epoxy ketones
(Elsevier, 1992-10-27)
Reduction of [alpha],[beta]-epoxy ketones under the Luche conditions with NaBH4/CeCl3 in MeOH provides anti- (or erythro-) [alpha],[beta]-epoxy alcohols in high yields and with extremely high stereoselectivity.
Thermodynamics of divalent-metal fluorides VI. Heat capacity and thermodynamic properties of the fast-ion conductor CaSn2F6 at temperatures from 6 K to 310 K
(Elsevier, 1993-02)
The molar heat capacity Cp. m of calcium hexafluorostannate CaSn2F6 was measured at temperatures T from 6 K to 310 K by adiabatic calorimetry. Reproducible heat capacities were obtained only after cooling the sample twice ...
Pt/MCM-41 catalyst for selective catalytic reduction of nitric oxide with hydrocarbons in the presence of excess oxygen
(Kluwer Academic Publishers-Plenum Publishers; Kluwer Academic Publishers ; Springer Science+Business Media, 1998-03)
First results are reported on the use of MCM-41 mesoporous molecular sieve as the support for Pt for the selective catalytic reduction of NO by hydrocarbons in the presence of O 2 . MCM-41 provided the highest specific NO ...
Structural and kinetic studies in propene oxidation over Sb oxide dispersed on TiO2
(Elsevier, 1991-02)
Antimony oxide dispersed on TiO2 was characterized using FTIR, Raman, and Auger spectroscopies as well as XRD. They indicate that the electronic environment about Sb is perturbed at low concentration suggesting that the ...
Atomistic Simulation of Curvature Driven Grain Boundary Migration
(Kluwer Academic Publishers; Springer Science+Business Media, 1998-02)
We present two dimensional molecular dynamics simulations of grain boundary migration using the half-loop bicrystal geometry in the experiments of Shvindlerman et al. We examine the dependence of steady-state grain boundary ...
Chemical extraction of indigo from Indigofera tinctoria while attaining biological integrity
(Kluwer Academic Publishers; Springer Science+Business Media, 1999-08)
Indigofera tinctoria was permeabilized with 20% methanol (v/v) at 25 °C and released 8±2 μg indigo g −1 dry plant material (excluding roots). This is equivalent to 42±11% of the total indican within the cells. The plants ...
Hydrogen-induced CO displacement from the Pt(111) surface: an isothermal kinetic study
(Elsevier, 1991-11-02)
Chemisorbed CO can be completely removed from the Pt(111) surface in the temperature range 318 to 348 K for hydrogen pressures above 2 x 10-2 Torr. Thermal desorption of CO in this temperature range in the absence of ...
Diimide formation on the Ni(100) surface
(Elsevier, 1993-06-10)
Diimide (N2H2), an extremely reactive species, is observed as a gas phase product from the Ni(100) surface in the 200 to 450 K range during hydrazine thermal decomposition and during thermal desorption of predissociated ...
Thermodynamics of ammonium halogenated tellurides II. Heat capacity, phase transitions, and thermodynamic properties of (ND4)2TeCl6 at temperatures from 5 K to 325 K
(Elsevier, 1992-06)
The heat capacity of deuterated ammonium hexachlorotellurate (ND4)2TeCl6 was measured at temperatures T from 5 K to 325 K by adiabatic calorimetry. A small anomaly in the curve of heat capacity against temperature was found ...
Functionalized polyhedral oligosilsesquioxane (POSS) macromers: new graftable POSS hydride, POSS α-olefin, POSS epoxy, and POSS chlorosilane macromers and POSS–siloxane triblocks
(John Wiley & Sons, Ltd., 1999-04)
A series of polyhedral oligomeric silsesquioxanes (POSS) monomers bearing silane or α-olefin substituents have been prepared and their chemistry explored. Both the POSS silanes and α-olefin monomers readily participate in ...
