A Triode Vacuum Tube Scale‐of‐Two Circuit
(The American Institute of Physics, 1938-03)
A vacuum tube scale‐of‐two is described using triodes. Accurate high speed tests of the resolution time showed this to be 6.5×10−6 seconds. New methods of interpolation are also presented.
The Infra‐Red Absorption Spectra of CH3OD and CH2DOD
(The American Institute of Physics, 1938-09)
The infra‐red absorption spectra of CH3OD and CH2DOD between 2.5μ and 24μ have been examined with a KBr prism spectrometer, and with appropriate gratings. The observed bands represent all of the fundamental vibrations ...
The Spectrum of Allene in the Photographic Infra‐Red
(The American Institute of Physics, 1938-10)
The spectrum of allene between 7000 and 12,000A has been photographed under high dispersion, the observed bands being assigned as harmonics and combinations of fundamental frequencies of the molecule. Rotational analysis ...
Exchange of Deuterium Between Methanol and Water: Vibrations of the Hydroxyl Group in Methanol and Methanol‐d: The Entropy of Methanol
(The American Institute of Physics, 1938-10)
New measurements of the equilibrium in the exchange reaction between methanol and heavy water, in conjunction with data in the literature, are considered in relation to the vibrations of the hydroxyl group, including the ...
The Infra‐Red Absorption Spectrum of Methyl Alcohol
(The American Institute of Physics, 1938-09)
Using a grating spectrometer having a KBr foreprism the spectrum of methyl alcohol vapor was studied in the region from 2.5 to 26μ. This molecule has bands at 3683, 2978, 2845, 2054, 1477, 1455, 1340, 1034.18 cm—1 and a ...
The Mobility Method of Computing the Vibration of Linear Mechanical and Acoustical Systems: Mechanical‐Electrical Analogies
(The American Institute of Physics, 1938-06)
The Absorption Spectra of Cyclopropane, Ethylene Oxide, Ethylene Sulfide, and Ethylene Imine in the Photographic Infra‐Red
(The American Institute of Physics, 1938-10)
The absorption spectra of cyclopropane, ethylene oxide, ethylene sulfide, and ethylene imine have been investigated in the region between 7000 and 12,000A and the stronger bands have been assigned as third harmonics of the ...
A Vacuum Tube Control Circuit for Cloud Chambers
(The American Institute of Physics, 1938-05)
A Recording Spectrograph for the Far Infra‐Red
(The American Institute of Physics, 1938-12)
This spectrograph records upon sheets of photographic paper 20×30 inches in size, spectra lying in the range between 18μ and 200μ. Of this range, 9μ may be spread over a single record, or as much as 100μ may be covered, ...
