dc.description.abstract | This is a discussion of the Scopes Trial and how to understand what happened and why it happened. The thesis is that the political struggle between powerful and less powerful political and cultural groups cannot be separated from the outward conflict. The conclusions, that religious people are not anti-science in a general sense but react to attacks on the Bible, is illustrated by data from PEW studies. | en_US |
