Marília, a stage play, falls under the umbrella of “personal performance.” This form appears prominently in the theater as solo autobiographical and autoethnographic performances, often referred to as self-referential theater or self-referential drama. Self-referential theater/drama is often pursued for therapeutic purposes – personal growth, healing, problem-solving, and/or for non-therapeutic purposes – artistic, educational or advocacy goals. Marília is a form of self-referential theater. It includes both autobiographical – personal life –and autoethnographic – positionalities, including issues concerning ethnicity, race, gender, class, etc. – contents.en_US
