dc.description.abstractThis booklet aims to inform parents about other parents' experiences (especially challenges) with a child with a tracheostomy. We hoped that this information (in a narrative form) would help parents better envision and understand what life may look like after a tracheostomy placement. With a user-centered design, we identified what topics to include (i.e., child's quality of life, home care, other practical challenges) and how to best convey this information to parents of critically ill children who may need a tracheostomy for long-term survival.en_US
